Premium?

As someone who flies drones regularly, I’ve built up a fleet of LiPo batteries from different manufacturers. I manage them carefully — never over-charging, never over-discharging, and always storing them at proper storage voltages. This approach has kept hundreds of packs in good health across brands.
But one brand has stood out for all the wrong reasons: Tattu.
I get it, everyone rants and raves about how awesome these batteries are. I just can’t get excited about the cash-fire. My older “shittier” batteries have both outlived and outperformed every single Tattu battery I’ve ever purchased.
The Problem: Early Failures
While my other batteries hold up well under identical management, my “premium” Tattu packs consistently fail early. In fact, most of them puff within 10 uses. That’s not an occasional bad pack — it’s a repeatable pattern across multiple Tattu batteries in my collection.
When a LiPo swells, it’s a clear sign of internal breakdown and the end of safe usability. For a pack marketed as high quality and premium-priced, this kind of premature failure is unacceptable.
Why It Matters
For drone pilots, reliability is everything. Batteries are not just consumables — they’re critical safety components. A puffed pack not only wastes money but also introduces fire risk and potential mid-flight failure.
If a brand consistently fails faster than competitors, it deserves scrutiny. In my case, I can say with confidence: Tattu packs do not last.
The Contrast: Other Brands Hold Up
Side by side, my other packs (from brands like CNHL, Gens Ace, and Ovonic) continue to perform well. They survive dozens of cycles before showing typical wear, even under the same flight conditions and charging regimen. The only consistent weak link has been Tattu.
Conclusion
Marketing aside, my experience shows that Tattu batteries are not premium performers. If you’re managing a fleet, or even just a handful of packs, think carefully before investing in them. There are better, more durable options that will save you money and frustration in the long run.
